I would like to share some photos from a trip to Frederikshavn, Denmark that I recently made with my
better half. We got there by ship from Oslo, Norway, and stayed there a full day and one night at
hotell. When we arrived there in the early morning we went right away on a bus to this Bangsbo Fort to
check it out. We jumped of the bus one stop to late and had to walk more then you hafto - but even if
so it is a good walk to make and we hade our bagage with us. All gear. We also had to make the whole
trip back, a couple of km's. The other me, so to say, wasn't at the best mood but it was a good day.
The first couple of hours we had greyich and rainy weather so not the best photo's. I had no UV-lence.
I did how ever only focus to take photos on the good stuff, so not that many bunkers will be showned.
But I did document a lot with the full HD video camera, wich can/will be shared later on after editing.
The Bangsbo Fort offer bunker museum, and the whole hill is full of 70 bunkers. This is a good trip to
make for the one interested in german ww2 bunkers. The canons showned in photos are from Niels Juel -
the germans took 3 canons to Bangsbo. And I will show 2 of them. weight; 6.1 ton - still standing and
sure will for a long time.
Enjoy!
First we stoped at a radar/communication bunker. But I could not find a photo of this bunker - only
documented on the video camera. But after passing that bunker we got out on the road leading to
Bangsbo. First we pass by the old gate / post, and after that...
..we got to the first bunker - AA.
Watching the sky
And how about the view?..
To the left we got the town of Frederikshavn, and its harbour.
and to the right we can see some more bunkers showing, but trust me there are plenty more of those down
there that arn't visibly.
as sad earlier I had main focus on just photographing "good stuff"
around.
and on the inside...
the view
and now over to another canon from Niels Juel...
Here we got some photos from a crew bunker. We all got to sleep.
Halt! Bunker.
in this bunker you actually find a museum. Not that much stuff tou..
and to round it all up..some more photos of bunkers.
and last of all: a good old german out house.
Thanks for watching, I would recommend visiting Bangsbo Fort in Frederikshavn, Denmark. It was a blast.
Take care.
