    So let me get this right.because of the age and depth they won't find remains.does this then mean we can open up old graves because they are so old there will be no remains.how does anyone know if people went down with this ship.the whole saga stinks not just our gold but they now sell our silver from grave sights
    Johnny the hold doors are open and the silver just sitting there

      Now there is another can of worms - we already do this knowing the remains are there. Mass burial sites at the former RN Hospital Haslar site in Portsmouth are routinely excavated with the knowledge that from the site opening in 1753 and around 1825 thousands of sailors and soldiers were buried in these areas.

          Odyssey are constantly in the courts with their 'lawyers' and meddling in International oceanic laws.

          They're a bunch of money billionaire scumbags scouring the ocean bed scooping up treasure and looking for wrecks of wealth to boost their market stocks.
          They didn't 'happen' on the site, they get their info from secret sources among them insurance registers.
          Their front is deep sea recovery and historical research but its all about money.

          The cargo ship in question posted by Birdie is a UK vessel has nothing to do with the US money grabbers and nothing to do with the US who weren't in the War when this ship was sunk.

              So Russians(or whomever) digging up German bodies to stirp their medals is OK? After all they might hit some old ordinance so they should be rewarded for taking "the risk"? I don't think it's that cut and dry Thorsten..

                Of course you can compare apples with bananas - they just still aren´t the same - and leave each a different taste.

                Then each tank with dead soldiers inside should have been left untouched as well, right?

                If you are so upset you should go to court and threaten these guys - and finally will see if that´s just your opinion or if they really do something illegal.

                I´d have a lot of fun going with these adventurers on their ship and document the whole event - quite thrilling.

                    That´s an ethical but not an economical question.

                    I´d also love to see more original remains of the Berlin wall or the Twin Towers - both are worldwide very significant - and sad! - historical sites but as long as there is an open compromise which is also published and communicated it´s the best that can be done.

                    It´s like with the money you earn: you can buy more or less ethical stuff for it.

                    You can buy a gun, a loaf of bread or a ticket for "The Buddy Holly Story" - Musical.

                    Or better invest in silver - or worthful historical military items.

                            Am I overlooking something or is it explained somewhere why no rescue boats were dispatched? Only one man making it to shore and 13 days later seems like no one was looking for survivors.

                              if a ship was sunk buy a Uboat all allied ships were forbidden to stop and help survivors the same reason uboats were forbidden to pick up survivors.it still stinks of greed and money over what's right a sign of the times I guess how sad

                                Don, the 'Amber Room' was destroyed by the Red Army when they set fire to the Schloss in Koenigsberg on April 9th, 1945. In their zeal to wipe out all traces of East Prussian culture, they destroyed their own cultural heritage. Very ironic.
