I’m going to Rome next weekend. Obviously I bought some guides but still no clue about places connected with our hobby. I would be pleased for your thoughts about antique shops, small flea markets etc

Recommendations regarding good military museums also highly appreciated.

I’ve heard that MUSEO STORICO DELLA MOTORIZZAZIONE MILITARE, located at Vialle dell'Escrotico 170 is worth to visit.

Would be pleased for your opinions.

    Please advice!

hey, I was actually visiting Rome about a week ago. I went to the usual sites like the vatican, the colosseum, the pantheon, and the forum. Unfortunately I didn't find many antique shops, and the only place I saw connected to WWII was Mussolini's house. Apparently the best place for collectors is Berlin. You might be able to find a place, but it will be off the beaten path

        Rome

Rome is an amazing city I stayed in a hotel that looked onto the Pantheon. Good food and wine and Pavarotti singing street artists. Great for a romantic break. If you like ice cream you can find it on every street corner in 1000 different flavours. The down side is its very expensive. As for looking for militaria.......I went down every street. Lots of antique shops but they all sell expensive high end items like art ect.

I went to Berlin a couple off months ago. It is a great city from a historical point off view. Hire a an old fashioned bicycle and tour the bullet ridden restored sites and feel the history. As for militaria......the only place you can go for it is Militaria Berlin(forum member). The flea markets are dire! the odd DAF members book, denaified kennkartes minus the photo, civillian gas mask, overpriced war merit cross and Russian front medals. Waste of time.
