Thats true, but then again, after what happened to them in 1919, you would think they would have taken advantage of WW2 to knock them all down and put up a few of their own. (?) When I was in Northern France recently, and you know this better than me, I saw memorials everywhere, including ones honoring French soldiers and victories from WW1. Go figure.
