USS Alaska/Guam and Jutland -

My question is because USS Alaska and Guam were built when the battlecrusier concept had already seen its heyday, would they have blown up in a collosal explosion like the British battlecrusiers at Jutland if hit by Japanese shells?
depends! from what iv heard the blast doors were left open in the magazines so they could shift more cordite and this was one of the contributing factors in the ships exploding when hit plus there were other factors to!still interesting question tjough!
