    Interestingly, there was no mention of it in today's paper. But a big deal was made about cinquo de mayo, which is a Mexican holiday and had nothing to do with the US. The media now decides what matters and what doesn't nowadays.

        It is not even a big holiday in Mexico. It is just the Mexican-Americans that have created this holiday. Ask them what exactly it celebrates or commemorates and 90% of them will not even know (or worse, they will say it is Mexican Independent Day).
