I would think present day russians would appreciate all we did to play a major role in helping them beat the nazis, and treat is better, since they never paid the lend lease they owed us at all, and they could not have won without our help . My own relative flew sorties to russia, so i'm the last guy to dislike russian people ...its just money is tight, everyone wants to get rich, and they forget, we cared about them, and they didn't even believe when we warned them what hitler had planned to turn on them, as they were actually going to do the same later to the germans...and I also have met many russian dealers here....dealing many high orders, and all most all fine made fakes for double original price. Nasty to deal with, this one guy i met.. also was involved in making medals badges, and was quite handy with his diemaking abilities....as they will NOT guarantee you they are even real....tell you stories , they will, but when you buy, and then need to send the item back they can't be reached...its their loss, not ours. I met a kgb operatibe in arizona in the 70's and he showed me all his papers etc. they do control prostitution , singles marriages , as many are married and double agents , then leave , big in white slavery, drugs and all you can imagine involving crime, and criminal activities if money is involved. This has been covered by our major tv stations through specials so it is true. I said it previously that...IF you have an" in"....which means , a marriage inlaw, family member, or such who still lives there , you will stand to be more secure...but I can see you walking around wearing a camo with no insignias, and standing out , like wearing a kick me sign. Get smart...stay home, and metal detect, or visit a safe country,but i wouldnt go east of eastern poland . So...search for vets , contach the german gov't to offer services if you want to donate time, and labor for some sanctioned dig... There is much to be found in europe, but for some like myself ...this is also a difficult decision to make about selling there...as some use the items they pay you more for, to make fakes to sell back to you occasionally . I say do what you want...But for me its no secret , i don't bother to patronize to areas where it is not even safe to mail items to,people are rude as common practice, and ... so that is the barometer, and no disrespect to the good people , as there really are many that are good , but they live in fear same as when germans , stalin, or present day organizations , control everything. Russians remind me a lot of american indians, some tough buggers if 'you ever have to fight one barefisted. I look forward to the day the whole world is safe to visit...but it ain't gonna be in my lifetime. Everyone thinks for themselves on the subject, and what works for some, won't work for all. You're security is many times dependent on your gut feelings , like when you feel you are being watched....most all the times , you really are. Good luck on whatever you choose to do, just keep your eyes open to the dangers prior to traveling to any country risking your life where you just may become a target, or a meal ticket through kidnapping or being ransomed, as your chances to get back after payment are maybe 1%...and highly unlikely.
