      Yeah,
Sorry about my idea. I wasn't there. That's how my grandpa did it.

          Gran Sasso,
To help you understand a bit better:

          1. I have 6 identical unissued early breadbags.

          2. I don't need 6.

          3. I can't sell them here.

          4. I don't put alot of value on some unissued items, cause they never saw action.

          5. It's my breadbag, I do what I want.

          Hope you understand better now.

I agree 100% it is your item and you do what you want with it and others try to judge you on what you want to do with your item they can just mind their own business and deal with it...

              Happy Holidays

I second that Dennis! I see far too many posts with "shocked" smiley faces and cries of indignation when someone tries out an idea on their own property. I they don't like it, why not offer the person three million dollars for the item and save it for your grandchildren so they can throw it out. By the way these types go on and on, you would think that some of this stuff were the most precious items in the world. Get over it! It's just mass produced stuff and not one-of-a-kind. And the values that get attached to these things....no wonder they are being 'faked'. They bring it on themselves.

                Oh, and Happy Holidays!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH DENNIS J!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH LARRY DAVIS!

I knew there were some people that feel the way I do. I love this hobby, but it's rediculous how some people worship this stuff.

                  Happy new year!

The only disadvantage of molten polish is that you can't keep the original colour of any thread. It will obviously turn black too. With the vinegar solution not.

                        Fellas,
Just wanted to clarify that the article posted at: http://www.dererstezug.com/blackeningboots.htm, never claimed that the method described was how the German army blackened their boots. It was just a method that has been proven to achieve the desired look when compared to orginals. This method was indeed confirmed used back in the 1930s though in general. Just wanted to eliminate any confusion

                        Jon

Glad to be of help Bob, I just kept polishing as normal and that was fine, no harm in using bees wax for bad weather conditions...
