    At this time of year

    At this time of year we should think about all soldiers who lie in a foreign field so far from home. We should also think of the families who have not been able to visit the grave of their loved one and have never been able to grieve properly.

    This grave, near my home, is just one among many that reads "Im Osten"
    Two sad words that means so much, yet means nothing at all.

    Rough times.

    What I noticed among people in my village is that the dead soldiers were there via a monument of stone - a little chapel in front of the church - but in general nobody spoke about them.
