DNA testing for geneaology purposes does have its uses, if limited. I recently took one for my paternal line and it gives an indication of where my paternal ancestor who first came to Britain most likely came from. Turns out for me it's North Germany or Denmark, ie. Danish Viking or Anglo-Saxon. That has to be combined with information already known in my family tree, which shows so far my family being in Southern England as far back at least as the 17th century.

Hmmm... I always try to look on the bright side of the latest 'news'; even the sensationalist nonsense stuff.
Of course, this 'news' might be terrible for those who (secretly) adhere to some of the NS racist nonsense, after all, the Chief being (ohhh...) one of 'them'.
What if the guy was Jewish? Mightn't one then conclude that WW2 was the fault of some Jewish cabal? That the holocaust (however one defines it
) was the fault of the same Jewish cabal? That the death (how many tens of millions) and property damage resulting from the war was the fault of the aforementioned Jewish cabal, led by a Jewish Hitler?
Folks entertaining us with bad science had best be careful what they wish for because the conclusion reachable by pondering this stuff, from a German standpoint this is WONDERFUL news! After all, everyone's been blaming them for all this stuff for 70 years.
Do you suppose the multigenerational 'collective' guilt hung on the German people can go away now?
Will Israel now, actually, (God forbid) have to PAY for all those U-boats they keep getting from Germany for free?
Can the German government & people now recover all those Marks they paid to all those victims as reparations post war?
Can the families of those hanged at Nuremberg get restitution for the murder of their family members led astray by some secret Jewish/African perpetrator?
