    Famous D-Day Piper Passes Away

Scottish WWII piper Bill Millin dies in Devon hospital.
The piper continued to play as enemy fire killed comrades coming ashore. A Scottish bagpiper who played men into battle during World War II has died in Devon.

Thats a sad shame, Another one of the brave few gone... Does not matter what side he fought on IMO. Most old soldiers dont feel like heroes " Just doing there job as the power of comradeship takes over the human sprit on countless battle grounds " If he beleaves in the afterlife he will soon see his fallen comrades " R.I P.

Too bad I usualy only find out that people like him were still alive when I see their death notice.
Playing music in battle during WW2, that was a real caracter!

Very sad. I had the priviledge of meeting Bill a couple of times over the years.

            RIP.

                RIP.
He must have been an exceptional man. Unarmed, playing the bagpipe in the middle of such carnage ...
As Jean Loup said we find out about this great men once they are passed on because in their greatness they are modest and simple nor they seek notoriety.
