Willi, great photos and I recall visiting the battleground site with my dad in 1943 or '44, long before it was a State Park. We lived just south of Asbury Park, NJ at the time and we went a few times. The old Tennant Church was nearby with its wood siding scarred by shot & shell and whitewashed over many times. Inside, we saw the pews that were used as hospital beds after the battle. Molly Pitcher's well was there, even if it was never a historical fact. An ancestor, Lt. Derrick Lane of the Second New Jersey Militia, participated in the battle.
Bob.
