V1 rocket

just watching a programme hosted by tony robinson about v1 rockets...he said that barrage ballons were of no help as the the V1's had wire cutters on their wings....surely this is ridiculous,,,,for many reasons...k

ive never seen a report of a v1 being downed buy a balloon.i do belive the wings on a v1 had some sort of edge that would slice through the wire.only problem with a ballon against the v1 was it was over its target before balloons were present.

It sounds like he is mixing up the intended use for the barrage balloons - I do believe that was an intended use against aircraft - that they could get caught up in the lines, but to think that a barrage balloon line would stop a V1 or V2 would be ridiculous to me.
