Is that the guy driving the soldiers' cars and "taking advantage" of their girlfriends back home?

Actually I think “Jody” is correctly spelled “Jodie”, but I may be wrong. Either way I know of this guy…..

Anyone who has been in the Army knows the marching cadence about Jodie. He is the mythological character that takes your girl while you are away serving Uncle Sam.

Although I never got the opportunity to catch up with Jodie, I certainly would have liked to have got my hands on him 23 years ago when I was deployed with the 101st ABN. But now I look back on it at it as a blessing – Jodie got the B%^$#! and I latter found the girl I was really looking for.

Jodie is as old as the soldiers who fought for Rome. He may operate under many guises, but he is the same nevertheless, and in my opinion, always ends up with the worst sort of women.

Yes, I was married while I was in the army in the early 70s. I later found out that the wife would not have intimate sexual relations with anyone except a friend. That woman didn't have an enemy in the world.....

A good example of the cadence is in the last scene of the movie "Battleground". Kinda stirring, actually.
