    Thanks for coming forward.
I,ve been studying it for two days, can't make head nor tail of it. I know one thing his fingers must be tired.

Nope i agree with birdie....if it were mine , and nobody payed what i wanted to sell such a one of a kind item for....it won't get sold. One of a kind items offered are now only meant for the rich collector who know even at that the price will always go up..
I once offered a famous luft generals RK document to the british war musem, and took the time to actually call them in person , but ...was treated so disrepectfully , and on my nickle which was like 20.00 for 5 minutes at that time ,that only the German museums will ever get the chance to own it back now if it went to any museum at all.
They should be ashamed of themselves , and at the time ...i felt England should have owned it if anyone should, but whomever treated me so badly blew all their chances for the UK to ever get it from me no matter what they offered now. (more nimrods)
The revenues to see it by night fighter collectors would surpass through the years what they would have paid and be such a draw it certainly end up cost effective, and continue to make money for all englands future time.
Everybody want a free meal in the museum business, and jealous comments by those who want us as collectors who hunt this stuff to just give it away back to germany to some institution that just may sell it off anyway is just hooey ...as if they were in the position of ownership the price would even be higher, you can count on that.(dont kid yourself we all want the most for the rarest items we have kept for so long for our retirement)
So nothing i have will ever go to those shylocks , or begging BS ing collector dealers who say they want it to collect, then sell it right off at my loss , and through 43 years of collecting these type dealer /collectors have taught me that lesson quite effectively.
I'm benifiting from my best stuff , as other collectors , for that one shot for my price... or turn my back on the buyer forever and they can GTFO. Big Money Buyers are like busses, another one comes along every 15 minutes, and they are all the same. They dont care about anybody but themselves.
Do you realize things donated to the smithsonian in DC sell to congressmens wives , and senators out the back door for adminsitrative costs. I know first hand as i personally met one curator who told me so , and few are aware it is a fact.

Germany hasn't even paid for what they did to the world in TWO wars...and have much bad karma. So they can pay like anyone else if they want to buy this eagle. And as for me...for example ...I would not sell my rk document , but have decided what i might do is trade it for a house in the future when i decide i want to liquidate , to trade of my choice or property i choose ...paid off in full in the town i live, or where i want to live as even trade for this famous night fighter generals award mappe(even actually signed by adolph personally not a facsimile), and the cheapest houses where i'm at are around 350,000+. But in 60 's money That only about 25,000. actual buying value. (due to the devaluated dollar, and inflation) I doubt it will leave the usa, and its what i want at that time or i'll just keep it.
It is also good to reiterate , that we are the last of the poor generations that will have a chance to own these rarest items , as common stuff will always be available, but items owned by notariety (such as hitler, goering, himmler, udet, etc)will as stated accurately go to museums to only be seen ...once sold by collectors, and will never be able to be re purchased by them again.
So I say get smart...and benefit or don't sell , as i'm not taking chump change for anything i have that belonged to famous third reich personalitys. I also take note on who treats me bad, and who is friendly even here , as one day i will sell, and they will not get any shots at anything no matter what they want to pay if they are rude people, and not polite and professional, so others might realize before they make stupid comments, as they just may in fact cut their own throats by misspoken words, and its Something to consider.

I applaud the slavager , and say...Good for that guy, and more power to him...who took the recovery on this project for the graff spees eagle , but ill bet he is into it for at least a quarter mill for costs..to hire a ship, divers, materials, food, permits, and paying off the government to be able to accomplish it. Too bad he didn't take one of the side markers of the crest on port and starboard sides also, and what about the rear eagle? .

He didnt sell it from what i heard , or did he, after the first offering price, so maybe some day it will come up for sale again if it isnt already sold ....and by the way....When some wealthy guy is ready to buy me a house free and clear of my choice contact me. otherwise, forget it, as one of a kind items I own ...others can't dictate prices on. Its what someone is willing to pay . It Doesn't matter what brass is worth in the eagle or other baloney arguments ,it's what the eagle represents belonging on that pocket battleship or even what current documents sell for, this stuff owned by the famous or the eagle from this ship ,is many times a one shot deal that never will come again in a lifetime, and only those smart enough to see the future , and pony up will ever own such items .Its only money!
Maybe he needs to make duplicates, and still would sell for bou qou! Then you all can have one to mount on the corner of your house for 50,000. each.
Now get out there and hunt the woodwork as thats the only way you will be able to land the biggest fish, and there is much left to be found in the U.S.A.....(european dealers already know this , as most of the stuff in europe is gone here (where do you think they get most of the stuff, except for the good fakes they also sell that cut the mustard)...so ....you have less than ten years of the best hunting ever in any of our lives ahead.... (The guffawing laughter and snide remarks may now proceed as expected , and to those who heed my advice can thank me later )

i understand if displayed for educational purposes, this eagle would sit unhindered in a german museum. it was procured at great expense, risk and passion. so anyone wanting should it pay for the privilege, collector or museum. id like to see it go to the relevant german navy museum. then it may be displayed, uncovered, in the right context and setting. wording behing phrases like 'nazi memorabilia collecting fanatics' , is the work of one office writer...probably someone without a clue about who collectors are...so, ignore that element. there is no getting away from it, the bird is impressive and its naval significance belongs to germany's right to archive and educate on its past.

Melt it down ... then there's no argument ... and no sycophant "crocodile tears."
