ATF Fallschirmjäger helmet liner to low - please help!

I just received a high quality m38 fallschirmjäger helmet from At The Front & it sits pretty high on my melon. Any ideas on how to fix it?

Hello,

The way I have fixed this problem in the past is to soak the liner through with water.

Then place a roll up item such as a towel into the helmet and so the item/towel sits proud of the base of the helmet.

Sit the helemt on a firm surface (towel down clearly) and sit a heavy object on the top of the shell.

This will stretch the leather liner further into the helmet.

Leave the helmet for a week or so then remove the towel and let the leather continue to dry out naturally.

Alternatively, remove the liner complete and drill bolt holes further down the Alloy liner band so that when the liner is refitted and the bolts placed through the new holes the whole liner sits further inside the shell.
