Or is just collective anti-German everything. A bit narrow mindset lacking in any actual in depth knowledge insight, objectivity, or simply racist, take your pick. Like saying every black person can dance or every southerner dates relatives and lives in a trailer. Maybe some have an education limited to texts that involved the use of crayons. Just because Kansas has state game laws on the books prohibiting the use of mules to hunt ducks and the shooting of ducks from motorboats is banned doesn't mean all the state's residents are morons, though I can assume some are. So it would seem Darges will be remembered primarily (by many here at least) as Hitler's adjutant (only one of many) and his service with Panzer Regiment 5 that won him the RK forgotten or dismissed as secondary.I remember him for his military service with respect, owed to any soldier in any war from any country.

I think it was his undying loyalty to a genocidal mass murderer that brought so much pain and suffering into this world that has many with a less than sterling view of the man. Another nazi who should have entered the pantheon of "heros" by getting a bullet through his head on the eastern front.....might have a bit more respect for the man then rather than listening to him goofball around about what a wonderful man hitler was long after even the dullest amongst us realized he wasn't.

I should add, have respect for his service perhaps (even if was for something evil) but not for the man.
