    Digging in Poland

I've seen the "Digging in Russia" thread and many other places people have gone digging in old battle-sites.

I have not seen (nor have I found in my forum search) any information on people digging in Poland. Are there laws restricting this, or simply no one has posted on the forums about it?

Are there any diggers from Poland who have some nice stories to share?

I'm going to school in Krakow next year and I might begin intense research about battles in the area to do some sort of digs of my own if I cannot find someone else (of course with permissions and proper procedures).

I believe you will find that any militaria "in the ground" is officially property of the Polish state / military, no matter what country of origin.

Also, I believe it is an offence to try to take or post any items of militaria out of the country over 50 years old.

There was an extensive article in an After the Battle magazine some years ago called " The Battlefields Outside Warsaw ". Unfortunately I don't have the date, but they sure dug a lot of stuff in the 1970's.
