The is actully the command to represent 'Friend' when observing possible enemy movements. The thumbsdown is the notion for enemy, so using the for anything relating to friend/good is in my eyes totally acceptable.

Regarding the cigarette, yes some would say the more professional way to hold a cigarette would be between index finger and the thumb, but, christ i have forgotten how many pictures i have seen when a german soldier is holding his cigarette between his index and middle finger ! . There was a lovely picture of a FJ for sale on photos section or ebay showing him doing this, very chav looking i must say .

G Day to all, BAUER great work to you and your group. That short film would look outstanding in black and white. After seeing that, you wish the big pursestrings in hollywood would get serious and do a "real" film about any German battle like that with the actors shown as real German soldat and not as skin heads.

Very well done!! I too wish that you could wash out the color and make it black & white. It is a very intense 4 minutes and I think captures well the sights and sounds of the real thing.
