U-69 Sinks SS Caribou

I came across this news clip from 1992 on the sinking of the SS Caribou off the coast of Newfoundland on this day, October 14, 1942 by U-69. It has a couple of survivor interviews and some archival footage. Interesting and shows how far into the Atlantic the war extended. Thought someone might be interested.

Thanks for the link. People forget that u-boats were sailing right up the St. Lawrence and into Hudson Bay, and some CO's, like Paul Hartwig, had notable successes against Allied shipping.

What to think of the so called "Monsun Uboote" that went to the far east : Indian Ocean and the Pacific: former dutch Indies, Malaysia, Japan and even Australia and New Zealand.

Right, some of those voyages were incredible, and some notable commanders took part, including Eick and Kentrat.
