    MIG-15 in Forney, Texas (USA)

Sorry if this is a bit off-topic, but I just could not resist posting this photo as I figure someone here probably knows the answer to my question:

Does anyone know how/when/why a Com-block MIG-15 fighter aircraft came to be sitting in front of an antiques shop in the small town of Forney, Texas? The town is about 30 miles east of Dallas on I-30. The MIG-15 is just a few yards off the highway and, in fact, my photo was taken as we zoomed by a few weeks ago at about 70 mph. I did not see an airstrip nearby, so I assume the aircraft was trucked in. IMO someone went to a lot of trouble (and, likely, a lot of expense) to acquire this aircraft for outdoor display (where it appears to be deterioriating)

Anyone have any information on this aircraft?

Contact the antiques shop and ask them, I'm sure they would be happy to divulge the story.

Unfortunately it was Sunday afternoon and I (along with the wife and 2 kids) was already several hours behind on my journey home after a long weekend. I do, however, plan to stop on future visits to the area.

There is one parked in front of Jet Chevrolet a used car store in Federal Way up here in Washington.

I have been to that antique store once, the jet was the only military item there that I saw! It has been sitting there for many, many years.

Looks to be in a bad way - the undercarrage has collapsed
