Not too far from where i live, roughly hours drive is the Brecon Beacons National Park, this has the highest Mountain for South Wales 886m above sea level and myself and few friends try to escape up into the mountains to play in the snow in winter and get wet in the summer on this occassion 2 weekends ago it was a beautiful day so we decided to head off to find one of the many plane crash sites within the national park, One of two Wellington Bombers this one crewed by Canadians who sadly all lost there lives. theres not much wreckage left due to people taking it over the years
Theres been quite a few crashes in these mountains, Spitfires, another Wellington, Vulcan, A10 Warthog and many more, so we're going to visit as many as possible, but first heres Wellington R1465
''On the 6th July 1942, Wellington Bomber No, R1465 took off from the Operational Training Unit at Wellesbourne Mountford, near Stratford upon Avon for a cross country flight training exercise.
In heavy cloud conditions the pilot appears to have decided to descend from his advised level of 10,000 ft, to try and fix his position, and in doing so, hit the summit of Waun Rydd in a flat high speed crash.
The crew, all Canadians, died in the crash, and are buried in Hereford.''
I'am beginning to approch the crash site, you can just make out the wreckage
