    UK airshows 2009 photos please

I beg any of you lucky enough to be in the UK during airshow season to post photos if possible.

Cruel fate made me a total fan of RAF WWII fighters born on the wrong side of the Atlantic.

"Flypast" just showed the 2009 show schedule. That 2 page needed image of 8-10 Spits together at a show set off my heart monitor alarm in the bookstore.

It's getting expensive to go see these shows now. 30 pounds per adult for the Flying Legends show at Duxford in July, that will be 100 plus quid for me and the girlfriend including petrol and a hamburger and coke!

My parents house was in Llancarfan which is about 1/2 a mile away from St.Athan's runway and directly in line with it. The pilots used my house as a reference point and flew in over the roof at about 500 feet. When the Vulcans came over, the noise would nearly burst your eardrums! awesome sight and sound that I'll never forget.

The magazine had an article on the Vulcan having obtained funds to allow it to fly this show season. An impressive plane.

But as a WWII nut seeing more than 1 Spit would make me dizzy. And a row of them starting, a taxi line, or flying formation, I'd probably need a pill.

Likewise seeing a Hurricane fly or taxi, all I've seen have been in museums.

Last year finally saw a Sea Fury fly, and that made my day.

Thanks so much for any photos you might be able to post

Wow Vulcan, quite a piece of work that was.

The only classic jets still flying the airshow circuit here, that I am aware of, are F-84s, F-86, F-104 [a pair of them] and a lone Phantom.
A couple early Mig jets also making the rounds, often paired up with its Korean war adversary, the F-86.

I went to a show a couple years ago that had no fewer than 14 Mustangs.
Last years theme was B-25's, must have been nearly 20 of them, they put most of them in the air at one time.

Looks like a decent lineup this year

I'll post some pics if I go in. I usually just hang outside the airport, much cheaper, and a much better view ,,, But sometimes I go in one day, and hang outside the next.

Will try and post some photos later....went to see "Just Jane" at the weekend.
For those that do not know it is a Lancaster bomber that is "airworthy" for taxiing only, however there is a possibility that it could fly again one day!

Got some good footage of "Just Jane" on the ground while Lancaster PA474 from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight made a fly past!

Members of the Royal British Legion have also made a "Replica" Spitfire using instruments from an original cockpit! My eldest son sat and played in it for half an hour.....he was in his element

The mid-Atlantic air show had 3 B-17s a couple years ago, that was my flying "highlight" as it's my favorite bomber.

And my town is visited by the Collins Foundation B-17, B-24, and B-25 (they own the flyable Phantom but our airport is to small).

Have ridden in the B-17 a couple times, not much better in life than that.
