          Spitfire

Spitfire at Bayeaux. One of the best items i seen was this crashed Spitfire which was piloted by a Canadian pilot. The museum at Bayeaux was the best museum i visited but i have read that is not as good now as there was some dispute or something over ownership.

Great pics Alan, thank you for posting. The museum at Bayeaux is still a good one to visit in spite if any ownership issues!

                          Crashed Spitfire

It is five years now since i was at the museum so my memory of what i read about the Spitfire is vague.I belive it crashed in marshy ground and lay there for many years before it was recovered or retrieved.I was also told that many old wrecks of tanks and vehicles lay about for years after the war .I do not know if this was just talk but it is what i was told.I know we video recorded many tapes of our time there and i will search through them to see if i caught the spitfire on tape.
