    Documentary about Léon Degrelle.

    Hello,

Very rare and good documentary about Leon Degrelle aired yesterday on the Belgian public television. Some testimonies of Chantal and Godelieve Degrelle his daughters, Jean Vermeire his adjudant and some others Légion Wallonie’s veterans.

The great scoop is the ashes of Leon Degrelle have been spread right from the Eagle’s nest in Berchtesgaden by Jean Vermeire himself.

    Best regards.

Jean Vermeire with the funeral urn of Léon Degrelle.

        Hi,

I used to own most of the personal file of degrelle.
His field nominations for his wounded medal, close combat clasp, knight cross, German cross in gold, congratulation telegrams from Himmler, his personal SS file records, rank nominations, almost everything he would have with his on the field to prove his ownership of his medals and such....

The file is now in the hands of a famous Belgian Degrelle specialist and collector....

        Funny thing is following...

Leon got his German cross in Gold AFTER he received his knight cross!!! Just a few days before the end of the war....

Many KC holders got a GC after the Knight's Cross. 2 different awards and not sequence connected.

I am just curious. Why would you give up such possessions? To own personal objects of such a figure would dominate any collection. Most of us are happy with just items from the war, but you had "hollywood" stars of the war.....

My old friend Hans Sturm also recieved an DKiG after his RK. Some RKTs never were awarded the cross.

Remember, I collect SS buckles... and buckle in general....

I got a SS officer prototype, A Flemish Algemeine SS buckle, salesmen plates, and more for this....
                <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>
And I also always had the rule to make as much people as possible happy in their domain.
                <o></o>
The collector in question has now the most complete collection of Leon Degrelle personal items. In my opinion this is better than lots of stuff all over the world...
                <o></o>
Like I have the most complete SS buckle collection thanks to this...

                  Hello Marc

Do you have a pic of the first page of the Soldbuch of Leon Degrelle, with the dogtag entry ?

I am searching for it. I only have a very bad pic of it.

                  Best regards, Fronti

No, I did not take pictures or copies of the items, that was the deal with the actual owner of these documents.
