Birdie, what a great opportunity!! Ask him what he wore in addition or in lieu of issue uniforms, equipment he carried, was his helmet cammoed? What they ate? Issue rations or what they could scrounge up? Love to hear personal stories! Thanks, Mike.
P.S. - Ask him what combat bagdes he wore! I saw the thread recently discussing that subject! Would be nice to hear from a vet about that.
