    Airsoft Games

While at the MAX Show my friend Bernard, who is a WWII reenactor, and I were talking to a couple of guys who mentioned that Airsoft is catching on. Anyone here play it?

It is similiar to paintball but instead of the big round balls of "paint," the guns fire small yellow BBs. I've been interested in the game but never have been able to find anywhere to play it. The reason I ask now is that more and more WWII guns are being produced. Airsoft as a sport/hobby/game is bigger in Europe I hear and the guns are realistic looking and there are even full automatics available.

What really sounded interesting is that these guys were saying that they play Airsoft in period clothing. That sounds pretty cool to me. The guns also seem affordable. Anyone know anything about this?

There was a good article in Reenactor Magazine July/aug. pg.15. It has a few pics, and gives this web site www.ww2airsoft.com for more info.

      Thanks Christian--
Actually I found out that Airsoft guns are banned in all of New York state and New Jersey. That doesn't mean you can't owe them but they can't be sold or shipped to those states. That sort of limits my options.

Hi Peter, there is a Vietnam based air soft scene in the UK, but no WW2 based games to my knowledge?
        Cheers, Ade.

          Airsoft in NJ

          Peter,

Actually, the paintball store that I frequent in NJ has a bunch of airsoft. No WWII stuff yet, but I'm sure that they can order anything that they make. If you are interested, I'll give you the contact information for the place.
