Hi Richard, glad you enjoyed the photos. There are no German Veterans in attendance at the ceremonies. This is due to the fact that the local Dutch people will not have them there. Several years ago they did place a wreath in the British War Cemetry at Oosterbeek, but this was removed by the Dutch. I have spoken to many British Vets about their feelings towards their German adversaries in the battle. The reactions are mixed, some would like to meet them, others would prefer not to. I might have some news about the Vets of both sides meeting one another. This might happen next year? I will post about it, with pics, if it happens. I have been asked to mediate between them. The Dutch reaction must be understood due to the very harsh treatment the Duch civillians received from the Germans after the battle. All the inhabitants were evicted from their homes, with just a few minutes notice, which were then looted of all the contents which were sent to Germany. Thousands of Dutch died of cold and hunger during the winter of 1944 due to these actions, the Dutch still call it the "Hunger Winter". German re-enactors would certainly not be welcome at all.

    Cheers, Ade.
