Out of the 3 main Collective Cemetaries in Hungary, my friend Herr Landser would like to introduce, the one on the West side of the country.
The grave of 2080 german soldiers who fell in the last offensive of the German Wehrmacht and SS, - Unternehmen Frühlingserwachen. Spring, 1945.

After the agreement between the German Bundeswehr and the Hungarian Authorities, in 1990. the Relocation Cemetary of Böhönye has been established, which basically became the restplace of those German Soldiers, who have been buried all around the county in scattered graves. In the first step, the 300 fallen bergkamerads of the 1. Gebirgjägerdivision have been relocated here from the city’s public cemetary.
The names of the soldiers can be found on the crosses. 4 soldiers have 1 cross. Those who have been burried unknown or the soldiers who were missing in action, their names can be found on the granite plates. Peace be upon them!
In the city of Böhönye at that time a military hospital was working, probably this indicates the location of the cemetary.
