    Did Turret A get a shot off? I dont believe it

    From most sources I have seen and read a last salvo was fired as she sank. Could have been something electrical or the last effort of the dying crew. Supposedly the ship was at a sharp angle when the turrent fired and I don't know if a crewman could have been in a position to "press the button" so to speak but anything is possible.

      Ted Briggs says that as he was in the water and turned around to see the bow coming up almost vertical that turret A fired off the last salvo.
