Then & Now: Rome - 1944

Hello friends...enjoy some of my then & now in eternal city

1- men of FIRST SPECIAL SERVICE FORCE run back of destroyed Tiger on Prenestina road..

2- same men, same location, same unit...and same Tiger..

3- on the same road, a US Sherman Tank open the fire against a german tank..

[Marco]

4 - the german tank (a Panzer MkIV) destroyed by the Sherman.

5 - Men of First Special Service Force to the entrance of Rome. Unfortunately was not possible to take the shot from the exact point because traffic in Rome not have respect for Then&Now Photographer

6 and last - under the coliseum

Very nice and interesting photos Here is a poto of my grandfather (HG division) which says on the reverse: February 44, Rome. Do you have any idea where it could have been taken? I suppose it is some kind of tourist spot...

Yes I know: is the Coliseum...and exactly in the spot that you can see in the picture below. If you want, when I have a little bit of time, I can go to take exactly the same shot.
