    My Grigsby Low Boots

Well my Grigsby boots arrived the other day, they are used but in great shape. The toes seem to have flattened out some compared to the pics from Grigsby. Anyways should I leave them the color they are now or blacken them? They have had some treatment applied to them. I ontacted the seller of these low boots and he got back to me on what it was he used on the boots and it was Kiwi Wet Pruf. Has anyone used this before? As for treatment for the soles I have BLO and Neetsfoot Oil which should I use or something else? Several people have said I should use the Neetsfoot Oil
Here are pics of my boots

I have since re-laced the boots ladder style. Some say that the Germans laced them X style and some say they laced them ladder style.
I remember talking with an old Canadian vet who served with the Hasty P's in Italy and remarked that they were told to make sure that they(Canadians) lace their boots ladder style because the Gurkhas that were attached to them would feel the boots in the night and if they were laced X style or had no laces(jackboots) it would be a German and they would cut the throats of the Germans. So what is the correct way to lace the boots? Ladder laceing wouldn't work well with the low boots that had the speed lace eyelets on them

Well I followed the recomendations to use Neetsfoot Oil on the soles and I applied a couple coats of SnoSeal to the rest of the boots. I tried to get some Kiwi Wet-Pruf locally but just happened they had one jar of SnoSeal so I grabbed it up. I applied it and then used a blowdryer to sweat it in and then applied another application followed up with the blowdryer. Here are pics of the results, they were taken indoors with the flash so pics may not appear to the real thing with natural light

          Lacing

Hey Aaron, I would leave the boots the color thay are. I think the brown boots look good for a late war impression.

As far as the lacing goes, the Germans did both the cross lacing and the bar (ladder) lacing. It really depends on your taste.
