Honouring the local WW2 vets this weekend

The Dixie Wing held its annual 'Boots Wings and Wheels' Airshow this weekdn, and i was humbled to be part of it. I displayed part of my collection, and got to meet some vets from my area( i met one gemtleman who fought in the Pacific Theater and lives a bout a mile from me. he is coming over next sunday for dinner, and wants to see my collection up close, and is interested in particular in my rifles which i did not have displayed)

The vets and thier wives hada special place to sit,and the name of each vet,as wella s his unit and theater of service was read. they were also given lapel pins commemorating thier service

a good friend of mine created a model of the Ball Turret, and we spent time talking to a gentleman who was a BT gunner, was shot down in 1944 and spent almost a year in confinement.
