    hers a load of photoes from trips ive taken to the somme and ypers over the past few years.i havn't seen anyone post many pics on the first world war so here they are.

        i found this interesting.its a miniture tank just outside poziers which has been hit by a bullet during the second world war

            this plaque commemorates the life of george nugent who's remains were found on the lip of lochnager crater in poziers village in july 2000

                  the remains of poziers windmill.the australians fought up from albert to take what was left of it.they lost more men in this battle than antwhere else on the western front

                      this is the butte de warlencort a hevily fortified ancient mound which was in german hands.you can still see dugouts and remains of the shelters in the undergrowth
