Were old Kentucky miners, soon we'll all be gone leaving nothing behind but some words on a stone.. We got coal dust in our lungs we can bearly catch our breath, but we got zippos in our pockets & camel cigaretts.. Merle Travis sang about us when he did 16 tons, heres to Johnny L Lewis still our favorite son.. Were ole Kentucky miners, soon we'll all be gone, leavin nothing behind but some words upon a stone,, Our sons and our daughters, they all moved away, some work for IBM, some make Cheverlet, they seldom return except for funerals and such, they found a better way, they don't have to eat this dust.. When we lay our shovels down at the end of the line, don't take us to the grave yard, let us rest here in the mine.. Just sing amazing grace & give analter card then rip all the timbers out and let the mountain fall.. God Bless
