    Wolfsschanze

    Hello!

This summer 2008 I maybe will go to Polen to see Hitlers bunker Wolfsschanze.

I wonder what I can see there if its only is ruins after the bunker or can I go into the buildings and look ? Any museum nearby?

    Best wishes from Per.

Its pretty much just a bunch of destroyed bunkers. The thickness of the bunkers is pretty impressive, but I would consider the whole place only moderatly interesting.
There may be some more interesting and significant places to visit in Poland. For example a placewhos name starts with an A.

I have been on a few occasions, winter is best as you can se the layout well. No museum, but the local hotel is where you should stay and is a former part of the complex.
There are quite a few 'walk in' buildings, general staff, adjutants etc.. Quite an atmospheric place.
The small area where AH played with Blondy is found intact. (Ignore all painted signs, none are period).

          Salut,

It is a very interesting place - make sure you visit the "minor" bunkers on the other side of the road as they are in a better condition.
