Speak of 'Band of Brothers', I've often wondered - have any bring-backs of the main characters ever knowingly come up for sale/auction?

Some of those guys must have some serious kit in their attics.

          Oh, and Happy Birthday!

          Chris

This thread brings to mind a book I picked up a couple weeks ago. It is the story of Bill Guarnere and Ed Heffron.
Wild Bill mentions when in normandy he jumped two SS in the hedgerows and made them surrender their pistols - he promptly then "blew their brains out". He mentioned he gave one to a buddy and when they got back to england pawned that pistol to support their party bent.
Bill also mentioned Malarkey was an absolute artist at picking up german pistols and alike and he guessed malarkey made off with more than 70 guns !.
This book "Brothers in battle , Best of friends" ( Author - Robyn Post ) tells alot more of the 506th and it's heros , and of course exposes more of the hollywierd version of history that the TV series indulged in that never was.

Very interesting, I will have to add that book to my list of items to pick up. I have heard from some fellow historians that Mr. Winters is in poor health. I wish him all of the best!
