    SD uniform

    Howdy,

    I'm putting together an SD uniform and it'll be real help if anyones got any pictures of SD that I can work from. The uniform itself I'm getting talor made. Any websites with information about the SD and pictures would be great also. I know personnel of SD provincial headquarters (leitabschnitte/abschnitte) wore a blank black cuff title and also that personnel of the Sicherheitspolizei who were transferred to the SD (as a party formation) had aluminium piping on their SD raute. Basically it can be said that those wearing the piped sleeve diamond were either former or current Gestapo personnel. It is unclear to me if this also applied to Kripo personnel as they too were part of the Sipo. Anyway that all I know

    I would offer this advice as a re-enactor of 30 years experience. I am not telling you what to do, but I would not recommend you wear SD uniform at a public event in the UK. You will be shunned by 99% of other re-enactors and show organisers will not welcome you either.

    Do some research into the SD and the war crimes they committed.

        The SD was the "Sicherheitsdienst". This link will give you some basic background info on the organisation.
