      Karlo,

Ireland as a sovereign state that was strictly neutral thrroughout the war, contributed nothing to the war. Now before we all say well about about so and so, yes there was the 100,000 Irish men in British uniform, 150,000 Irish civilians working in English industries, Handing over of interned Allied pilots, the Donegal Corridor, sending fire brigades to Belfast during the blitz, handing over sighting reports of enemy aircraft and u-boats, Allowing the most Senior Allied General of the Allied forces (General Devers to spend only 24 hours interned in Ireland after crash landing outside Athenry, Allowing known military personnel land at Foynes while dressed as civilians and the list goes on and on and on.....

Still as far as the rest of the world is concerned and the very reason why Ireland was not allowed join the UN unitl 1957 (or 55 can't remember) Ireland contributed nothing to the war

      Regards,

      Mark

          Karlo,

I'm not going to get bogged down in Ireland and the war debate here, plus its also hijacking the theme of the original thread.
I think you also missed the point I was trying to make in the above post, so there is not much more I can say.

Lets stick to original thread please.

          Regards,

          Mark
