B24 bomber wreck in the alpine mountains

I learned this story several years ago, but never had made any efford to search for one of those crashed bombers, although all 8 had been shot down close to my hometown.

Just by change I noticed that a collector and friend might know the position of one of them, but he had never been there, too. He only knows the valley up in the alps, no exact position. As yesterday we had one of the last summer-days this year - the forecast expects snow in areas 1500 meters and higher, and the crash-site is almost 2000 meter over sea-level, we decided to take a "walk":

Hans at the start of our walk - to come here we had used so far: car, cable-car, mountainbike:

We go higher - now above the level, where trees are growing:

Plate - does anybody know where Sgt. Sellars, who was first buried here, rests today, and when he was taken back?

Would love to see more photos.
Was the fabric of the aircraft removed for scrap ?
                            thanks james S.
