            Many thanks for the link.
As the foreward says, 2 different sets of reality.
The pomp and plumpness of these organisers of mass murder.
Hard to comprehend the young staff and females with chidren,
enjoying life, while on a daily basis they saw, tasted and smelled,
            and inflicted misery and death.

            John.

Hi Douglas, many, many thanks for posting this link. I had been searching for almost 20 years for photos of Dr Lolling.

              Cheers, Ade,

People responsible for so much suffering , relaxing taking it easy , Birkenau could have been 1,000 miles away.
The dead SS killed the stray bombs , a contrast to the people being killed at Birkenau , burials attended by family members.

Interesting photos most certainly but what detachment they display.

                  Another view:

                  http://www.nytimes.com/packages/html...URE/index.html#

Again, no sinister activities depicted, but the commentary 'fills in the blanks'.

The confirmed pictures of Mengele are particularly interesting from a historical standpoint.

                        .

Yes thats the sad thing and psychological studies have proved it scientifically. Given the right circumstances. People sometimes like to elevate themselves so to say to think the contrary. An excellent book to educate yourself is called "on killing." by Lt Col dave Grossman.

                          Mengele

Absolutely ! He made it a point not to be photographed.
He apparently dropped his guard while among friends.

                            Great photo's !!!

Amazing how on one hand things are so sinister, yet on the flip side just "ordinary" people laughing and having fun.

Two things that did come to mind..................

                            1. The SS had some UGLY women
                            2. I think that Schmauser's collar tabs in photo 14 are fakes and need to be discussed

Ya gotta have some laughter !!!
