                        There is nobody under the ground, for sure. This monument was built in the 1920´s.

                            Ok, perhaps 1919. I was in Verdun too, this year. You can believe me, this story is not true.

                            When you understand german language, read the very good book "Verdun - Das Große Gericht" of Paul Ettighofer (a former leutnant in the battle of Verdun).
                            Also in all guidebooks you find in Verdun can you read the true story of this monument.

                              there are so many bodies there they have declared it a mass grave.verdun gives you a visual clue to the enormous loss of life by the french army in ww1.the bodies are not where the monument is its further along
