      Hello,
you can go to Oradour sur Glane, it's about 25 kms from Limoges. The town was entirely destroyed by some Waffen SS troops on the 10th of June 1944 (Das Reich division, Der Führer Regiment). Town is untouched since 1944, with burnt houses, shops, cars etc...everything has been left as it was when the WSS left the town. men, women, children, ederly people, almost everyone in the town was killed this particular day = 642 victims. Visiting Oradour is quite impressive...
do some internet research about the french resistance around Limoges...it was very developed in this area and you may find numerous spots to go : monuments, places where fights took place etc...
      good luck !
