Fully functional semi-automatic converted MG should run you 4000-5000 bucks from gunbroker.com, etc.
You also need patience to make it work with blanks for reenacting.
There is an ad in Shotgun News that has them, they have both MG-42s and MG-34s. The website is www.Mg34.com and they have the starter tabs and belts also. There are some reenactors that have these dummy guns made to fire propane ignited by a spark plug. The ones I have seen couldn't replicate the high rate of fire that the MG-42 had but were pretty good at producing the MG-34 rate of fire. Weather conditions effected them somewhat from what I saw but as was stated earlier, an original full auto MG-42 will cost you as much as a new BMW car so this is a much cheaper alternative.

You can build one on your own, although you are pretty late in the game, and things have gotten expensive, you can also build a MG34 if you like, although a much harder process. (Make sure you adhere to all the legal issues) Here's where you start: http://www.mg42.us/index.php
BRP Corp has MG34 kits available right now for sale, MG42's good luck, as already suggested gunbroker/auctionarms.
