    M-36

I am doing a repro M-36 tunic for reenactment but i need the insignia for it. Where can i get get the best repro insignia, does anyone know?, or should i just buy originals and sew them on?. I want it to be good looking.

Also if someone can point me in the right direction regarding a rifle k-98
preferably with the right waffenamt markings.
Is it still possible to get these?

    Thank you

    Go with repro insignia

I am against using fragile original items for reenacting. From your name I assume that you are portraying waffen-ss so it would be unrealistic to spend hundreds, maybe thousands on original insignia when they make so many good reproductions that are very inexpensive.
As far as a Kar98k, you don't mention where you are from but if you are from the U.S. you can get a Shotgun News and have a local gun dealer order you one for somewhere in the $200 range.

Check out Atthefront.com or Hessenantique.com for repro insignia. Just got a set from ATF and it looks good. Don't use originals! If you reenact correctly, you'll be crawling on the dirt and doing a bunch of things you shouldn't be doing while wearing original militaria.
K98s are still easy enough to get a hold of. A waffenamp'd Russian capture should run anywhere from 200-300 bucks. I've even seen them at my local pawn shop.

Ok thanks i will try these dealers. the ones i have looked at look like total crap most of them. i could get a yougoslav mauser the other day that looked identical to the one i want but not the right stamps.

        Thanks

Here is another insignia maker that does a good job. I've used them for my Army paratrooper items from pre-war, and while it takes longer than ATF and the others, it is still a worthwhile investment.
