    Black Book

    Greetings,
A pal of mine that works for a major movie company passed me a screener for
a soon to be released on DVD picture called "Black Book" by Paul Verhoeven - apparently it won the Best Intl. Film at the Venice Film Festival in 2006. Has any Forum member(s) seen this film?
IMHO it certainly does not portray the Dutch as such sterling examples of anti-Nazi resistance as we have been told to believe, it does not gloss over the element of the Dutch traitor and Collaboration. The picture shows us the good, bad and ugly of the time period - and what greed will do to any nationality given the circumstances and oppurtunity. I am curious if anyone else has seen it and what they think of the picture.

Do a search on the forum for this film. It was out last year over here in Europe and i,m sure has been released in the US by now.

        Greeting MGF,
Thanks for your comments, the film you mention "Soldier of Orange" do you know if this was ever released in North America, or only in Europe?
        Regards,

I'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.

Good movie. Doesn't show the germans as the usual mindless evil automatons. The lead actress is one hot tomato!
I think they were selling the vehicles used in the movie on EBay. I know I saw at least the halftrack.
