    Achtung reenactors!

so, now that I have your attention, how many amongst us are in the hobby of living history, how long have you been in the hobby, and what impressions, do or have you portrayed?

Brian, I was hoping someone would start this thread.

I entered reenacting in 1996 on my 35th birthday as a matter of fact. I've now been at it for about 7 years and have in that time period been a member of three units: a volksgrenadier unit out of AR; a WSS unit that never really got off the ground; and finally, for the last 4 years a jager regiment in a Luftwaffe field division that I started along with friends of mine.

We are located in the South (MS, AL, TN, AR) and try to keep within a 5 to 6 hour radius of Memphis for most events. However, I have been known to branch out a bit and have been to the GAP and to Liri Valley on two occasions.

I entered the hobby as a reenactor. But, as time went by, my interest went into collecting. I was first a "shotgun" style collector, i.e., if it had a dirty bird on it, I had to own it. But, in the last few years, since I started doing field division, my interest has turned almost exclusively to uniforms and equipment of ground troops of the Luftwaffe.

Here is a link to our website: 8. und 18.Feld Divisionen (Lw) . I hope that others will post links to their unit sites as well.

Hi Guys, like Jack sugested it would be ncie to see the websites of groups that some of our members belong to. Here is the link to our Soviet groups website:

      http://www.dorsetanimalrescue.net/2ndguards/index.htm

Please ignore the odd web address, as it is still in the design stage and we have yet to pay for the new domain name

My British airborne group's website is also under going a re design. I will post a link once it is up dated.
      Cheers, Ade.

Hi Brian, thanks for the link. But it has a spelling mistake in it, so it will not work.
You have accidently put a "B" instead of a "V" in devils
It looks a good site. Off to check it out now.
          Cheers, Ade.

I've been hoping for a forum like this!

I started out about 3 years ago with the 11th SS Nordland as it was the only active German unit in the area. Nowadays, there are 2 SS units, a Grossdeutchesland unit, a Geibrigsjager unit and an FJ unit - things have picked up for the Nazi's

So, primary, I am a Gefreiter with 2.Komp I/FJR2; and secondary, I am a schutze with 11th SS Nordland
If only I could be half the man my dog thinks I am

                        Old timer

Check this out. I started when I was 12 years old in 1975. There were no real rules at that time. We started at Weldon Springs in St. Louis, MO. I carried a "non-gun" MP40. In 1976, I was part of the group that formed the WW2 Historical Reenactment Society. I have been reenacting since then and am now 40 years old, still enjoying the hobby with my brother. For a while I was only making 1 battle each year, but have been increasing it lately.

                          WW1 German!

We reenact a late war regiment that was raised from the Rhineland in 1917-1918.
