Norwegian Obersturmführer Fredrik Jensen

He was on the front page of Norways biggest newspaper yesterday, accused of helping Mauthausen doctor Aribert Heim evade the police. Fredrik Jensen is and was the highest decorated Norwegian volunteer.

I haven't contacted him, he lives in Spain. And if I ever did it would not be to buy his awards, but a chat and a beer instead.

I have talked to him several times, also spent a weekend with him last summer. I tried to write down as much as I could. He sure have seen alot of action this man. He had some great storys regarding his snipers in his company. He could tell that they used the SS-face masks!

Interesting story.

these witch hunts for nazis who are now in their twilight years do p*ss me off. Wasnt that long ago that I remember an estonian guy getting deported from OZ to face war crimes and he too was an old man.

for one: the whole issue of who is and who isnt a 'war criminal' is totally depended on ones point of view.

were the pilots who dropped the A bomb a criminal?

what about the pilots who fire bombed dresden? Or the guys at the top who gave the order?

I see no one hunting these people down.

and what about all the horrendous crimes against humanity that have happened POST WW2? surely these are more worthy of being dealt with than harrasing some old guy in his late 80's.

seems like one rule for one lot and another rule for the allies. Or maybe its a case of its easier to make moral judgements on the past rather than look at whats going on in the world today.

I do not condemn ANY acts deemed as war crimes; I merely ask for justice to be handed out on the same terms for all.

Regarding the acusations from Simon Wiesenthal nazi hunter there is NOTHING documented regarding this case yet.
It seams like these jewish nazi hunters can invade anyones private lifes any where in the world on the hunt for 90 year old ghosts. Do not dare to ask any questions, the racist-nazi card will be immediately come out of the sleeve.
People are getting tired of this arrogance. They should shot up until they have some solid evidence. The norwegian frontfighter served his punishment 60 years ago for fighting against Stalin on the east front, time to let it go...

Agreed... Double standards... Arthur "Bomber" Harris just to name one. I too agree to let bygones be bygones. It seems as the numbers of vets dwindle the accusations rise a bit. Almost like lets take one last crack at them to show who the winners really were and still are. Almost a power trip of muscle flexing.

Sounds a bit like the "Søren Kam-case". The danish Obersturmführer and recipent of the Ritterkreuz, commander of 1. batallion Germania- 5. SS-Panzer- Division Wiking--At the end of the war..

The danish goverment want the german goverment to hand him over, caused to the murder on a danish journalist back in 1943

The man is 86 If he ends up in jail, he wont survive more than a couple of months....

It's sad, that some people simply doesn't respect what SOME of the Waffen SS vollunteers sacrificed under the war...

Fredrik recently died at an hospital here in Sweden after a stroke at the age of 90. Rest in peace.
