    Bayeux museum

Well I have to admit that the Bayeux museum is just a shadow of what it was some years ago. Euro 6.50 entry fee and no photos are allowed. The stripped the museum heavy. I head a story that around 3/4 quarter of the collection belongs to a dentist and he and some other museum guy had an argument which could not be solved. So the dentist decided to have all his stuff back!

I would not reccomend a visit to this museum unfortunately.

            War booty

Here a German M42 helmet found near St Lo

The egg handgranade was found in Luxembourg not in Normandy

Jurg's comments re Bayeux museum are sadly reflective of the museum which is largely an empty shell.

It is actually a Napoleonic bunker renovated by the Germans, Carentan was fortified by Napolean in the 1800's by means of utilising the lock system that the germans took advantage of to such an extent.
