    XXI Indep. Para Coy reunion 2007

    Hi Guys, last weekend I got to spend my annual long weekend with the Pathfinder Vets. I had a feeling this years reunion might be the last one? However, they have decided to continue and have another reunion next year.

    There were 11 Veterans in attendance, plus wives and families.

    I have now taken on the task of being their clubs newsletter editor. I feel that I owe them a debt of thanks for being able to attend their reunions for the past 8 years, and in this way I can repay them

    Here we have a group shot taken before dinner on Saturday night. Not all the Vets are on the pic, some not staying for the dinner.

    Left to right, starting at the back we have: Ron, who served in Palestine; Peter, South of France & Greece; John, Arnhem, Norway, Palestine;
    Front row: Don, North Africa, Italy, Arnhem, Norway, Palestine: Jim, South of France & Greece: David, Arnhem, Norway, Palestine: Solly, N Africa, Italy Arnhem, Norway. Glyn, South of France & Greece.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Here we have John and his Great-Grandson, Connor. I think this is a great photo and shows just how much he loves his Great Grandad. He did not want to leave his side all day.

    John was Coy Bugler and batman to Major "Boy" Wilson.

            Hi Si, you might be interested to learn athat a new book about the XXI should be coming out later this year. A working title for it is "Unsurpassed". This is taken from the message sent to the unit after Arnhem by Gen. "Boy" Browning

            Hi Ralph, I certainly did.

            One funny story was told by Jim, who can be see in the maroon blazer. He brought home a large swastika building drape flag. On his next leave home he asked where the flag was? His Mum then showed him her new red curtains!

            Cheers, Ade.
